FAQ'S

How old do I have to be to participate?
The Mad Mudder is open to all participants. However, we recommend children be at least 10 years of age or older.
**Ages 13 and under must run the course with an adult **

What time should I arrive?
You will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your registered start time.

What should I bring?
A valid ID with your birthday to check in if you’re over 18
Signed waiver - You can download the waiver here, or you can pick one up in the registration area.
***If under 18, waiver must be signed in person day of the event by parent/guardian or printed out and notarized
Garbage bag to store your muddy clothes…they will be sopping!
Cash - to purchase food and beverages
A towel to dry off and protect your seat home
Change of clothes for after the rinse station and changing tent
Confirmation email - to ensure your entry in case of computer/registration errors.
Yourself! You must be present at the event to pick up your registration packet

What should I wear during the event?
Since you will get wet several times during the event, a dry wicking fabric such as Under Armor will give you the most comfort.

What kind of shoes should I wear?
A running shoe with a good tread will help you in the mud.  Your shoes will get muddy, so if you wear a pair that can be washed, it will make clean up easier for you.  No football or golf style cleats may be worn. 

Can I go around obstacles that I can’t do?
Yes, you can.  Remember though that part of the fun of doing an event like this is conquering your fears and doing things that you didn’t know you could do.

How long is the course?
The course is going to be approximately 2 miles long

Do I have to know how to swim in order to participate?
No swimming is required. The mud pits are only a couple of feet deep and easy to wade through.

Is this a race?
No, it is an adventure event. The challenge is finishing, not winning.

Can I just show up and register the day of the event?
Yes, but it will be CASH ONLY and you will not be eligible for a T-shirt.

I tried registering online, but it didn’t work, is there any other way I can register?

Is there a place that I can get rinsed off and cleaned up?
Yes, we will have a place near the finish line where you can hose off, however this will be cold water only.

Will there be a photographer?
Yes, there will be one on site

Are spectators allowed and is there a charge?
There is no charge for spectators. They will be able to see the start and finish areas plus several, but not all, obstacles. We try to make the course as spectator friendly as possible while also keeping participant safety in mind, as that is our number one concern

What is the weather policy?
Safety at the Mad Mudder is our top priority.  If dangerous weather conditions listed below occur on the event day, the event may be delayed or even canceled.
Dangerous Weather Conditions
The Mad Mudder be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, “Excessive” Rains, or any other weather conditions we feel are threatening to the safety of our participants.
Start of the Race / Cancellation of the Event
The start of the event may be delayed one hour from the posted start time if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch or Thunderstorm.
The Race Director has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day.

Can I get a refund? I can’t make it that day or have changed my mind.
Sorry, no direct refunds are available.

Can I bring my dog with me?
We love pets, just not on our event grounds.  Please leave Fido and other pets at home.

Can I bring my own food or alcohol?
NO. You are not allowed to bring your own food or alcohol on site. If you have any alcohol you will be asked to leave the premises. Food will be available.

What do I get with my registration fee?
With your paid registration, you will receive the following:

Mud Run Race Bib
Free Mud Bath

Memories that will last a lifetime

How much is the registration fee?
Registration fees vary and increase as the run date approaches. Please see homepage for current registration fees.

When is the latest I can register?
The last date of registration to guarantee a T-shirt for the Mad Mudder is July 31st 2017. After this date you can still sign up online and the day of will be CASH ONLY

I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?
The Mad Mudder has no refund policy.

How big/small do teams have to be?
To qualify as a team you MUST have 10 people. Anything less you will have to register as single runners.

What if I get sick or injured during the event?
There will be paramedics and/or EMS personnel onsite. If you become sick or injured, immediately remove yourself from the race and locate a Volunteer who will direct you to the First Aid tent or EMS personnel.

If I want to get involved but can’t run the race, can I volunteer?
Absolutely! We need volunteers to assist before, during and after the event. Please fill out the volunteer registration form if interested.

Will you have a bag check?
Yes, a bag check will be available. Each racer must have their bib number on to check and claim their bag. Bag check is limited to one bag per participant. DO NOT leave valuables in the bags, leave them at home, especially jewelry. The Mad Mudder  Run Staff is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Can I wear a costume in the run?
Absolutely! We encourage you to get as creative as you want. Make sure the costume does not impair your vision, prevent you from breathing normally, or can potentially make you trip or get snagged on an obstacle. Nudity of any kind is prohibited. Your race bib must also be visible on the front of shirt / costume. This is a family event, if your costume is deemed inappropriate you will be asked to change or leave the event without a refund.
